Just before I left town, I took Bijou with me to the pottery studio to pick up my finished pieces. I was so nervous about how they may have turned out. Over the course, our teacher warned us that pieces can break going in or coming out of the kiln and that glazes can run and ruin your piece.
As we pulled up to the warehouse studio, Bijou said, "this place looks like a dump." Ha! I'm not really sure what she was expecting. Anyway, we scoured the rack for my pieces and I was so happy that all 7 pieces turned out well! Bijou was proud of me. I was proud of me and when we left she asked, "Mommy, can I take a class there sometime?" I guess that "dump" can churn out some goodness.
