We have so many roses blooming at Carmagnac right now, we can't keep up. I have roses in vases in every room, we've made a few batches of the rose scrub I shared last week and Bijou strung this garland for me for Mother's Day. Happy belated Mother's Day to all you moms out there! I had a nice relaxing day. I slept in until around 8am and was greeted by snuggles from my littles. I had prepped Eero and Wilder (3) about the traditions of Mother's Day (sleep in, breakfast in bed, no fighting, etc). They were eager to start the day with the role reversal where they took care of me. They brought me coffee but got a little mixed up about the breakfast in bed so they brought THEIR pancake breakfast into MY bed and ate in bed with me while I watched. It cracked me up and to be honest I usually don't eat until around 10am so that was fine.
After coffee, Bijou and I put on our running shoes and started Day 1 of our "couch to 5k" app. Seriously, that name is awful! It was a nice introduction to running (which I hate, but believe it's the fastest way to lose 10 lbs) with 1 minute walk, 1 minute run intervals. Bijou kept up and it was nice to see we've hit another milestone... exercising together!
Then we dropped Bijou off at a playdate and took the boys to an indoor play space they like and had lunch at a yummy restaurant.
Here is the DIY from Bijou for the garland:
Supplies: twine, roses, needle, scissors
Cut the roses off the bush leaving little stem. Thread a long piece of thin twine onto a needle and string the roses onto the twine. Clip the ends of the twine leaving enough to hang onto the wall. As the roses dry, they will shrink so make it extra long.
