We visited our first French zoo and were surprised to discover that you could feed all of the animals (excluding monkeys and otters) caramel corn! Who knew?! Upon arrival, we noticed a zoo employee selling caramel corn and didn't think much of it. We assumed it was for the people to snack on but quickly discovered it's true purpose when we arrived at the giraffe exhibit. How exciting to be able to get so close, stick our hands in the cage and feed these magnificent animals. In America, our litigious country, we would never allow such a thing. The jury is still out on how healthy caramel corn is to these animals but I trusted that the French zoo-keepers had done their research.
