We couldn't believe our luck with the weather. We came prepared for a nordic holiday with winter coats, caps and mittens and were surprised to be rolling up our sleeves on the first day of the vacation. With the sun shining, we headed to Vondelpark, a Golden Gate or Central Park equivalent. The park is an ideal place to ride bikes or practice pedaling the kids in a Bakfiet. There are several different play structures to suit many different age brackets. We also found an old croissant in the bottom of the diaper bag and fed the ducks, they weren't picky. The best part was enjoying a leisurely lunch with Bijou, wine included, at one of the two restaurants in the park while Wilder snoozed in the stroller. During the summer months, you can rent roller-skates and skate around.
